Recently, the U.S. Health publications provided some disturbing news about the rise of diseases during the covid-19 pandemic. Many adults and children were home-bound. This caused a serious change in eating habits and a lack of exercise. Many families neglected eating healthy foods, and many got extra meals from fast food outlets. Children also neglected to get enough exercise, which they previously got from school and exercise programs.
Three things were highlighted that became a health problem for both children and adults. They are the rise of obesity, diabetic onset, and Candida fungus infestation. In a poll of the American Psychological Association, they stated that in a large number of people, 40 percent said that they had gained more weight than they intended. Between 2018 and 2020, among 8 to 20-year-olds, hospital visits for type II diabetes diagnosis tripled during the pandemic. At Children’s Hospital in Washington D. C., they said diabetes has become a big problem, with 10.5percent more admissions with people diagnosed with diabetes. Diabetic deaths in adults also increased significantly, by tripling to 25 percent over the years 2018 and 2019. Continue reading
