Effects of Eating Too Much Sugar

How much sugar is too much sugar?

sugar-jelly-beans-1Even one pack of M&M’s may be more than you should eat in a day, newly drafted guidelines from the World Health Organization suggest.

The WHO used to recommend that you get no more than 10% of your daily calories from sugar, but now they’re considering lowering that to 5%. For an average, healthy adult, that would mean 25 grams, or about six teaspoons of sugar per day. (That’s a little less than what you’d get from 10 Hershey’s Kisses. A single can of Coke has 39 grams of sugar.)

A teaspoon of sugar in your coffee or a half cup of ice cream won’t kill you — all things in moderation — but the average sugar intake in the U.S. is 22 teaspoons per person per day. That’s almost four times as much as the WHO’s new guidelines suggest is healthy. Continue reading

Many savvy and health conscious shoppers analyze food labels to know exactly what’s concocted in that jar, can or box. Conversely, millions of Americans, brainwashed by trendy advertising and/or scientific propaganda, remain clueless about genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and other ubiquitous genetically engineered ingredients like MSG, maltodextrin, soy protein isolate, et.al. Food manufacturers spend lots of money concocting chemical additives to addict you. Some of these “foods” shoved down American throats are flat out banned in other nations. Distractify.com gives even the occasional junk eater fifteen reasons to just say no. Continue reading

Bon Appétit

JFB_2009_port-198x300Editor’s NOTE: What follows are a series of headlines, synopsis and links to a series of articles regarding the poisonous nature of that which we are expected to ‘eat.’ Notice that there is only reference to GMO – Genetically Modified Organisms – NOT Genetically Modified FOODS. It’s all designed to confuse the mind. Just because you fill your belly does not mean that you are feeding your body of the necessary nutritional foods that have been provided by nature and real farmers for years.

How COPPER could help combat obesity

Essential nutrient ‘plays a key role in breaking down fat cells’

copper cookware

Publisher’s Notes: Throughout history – many people (especially people of a modern age), remember the times when gold and silver were considered ‘money’- something of REAL value. Before either metal was used to fabricate coins or ingots for barter and exchange – there was copper – the world’s oldest form of metallic money.

Then came the rich – the elite, and something new came into use ~ silver was now used to fabricate ‘silverware’ – not the utensils, which use that name today – but knives, forks and spoons (as well as serving utensils) for their medicinal value. Many people are aware of such use today with products such as Colloidal Silver and others. But what is always left out? Copper! A marvelous heat conductor in cookware (Reverware™ for example), an alternative monetary resource and something of major health benefit. ~ J.B.

  • Copper could hold the key to combating obesity, new study reveals
  • Establishes for the first time that the nutrient plays a role in fat metabolism
  • The more copper there is in the body, the more fat is broken down
  • Copper is plentiful in oysters, shellfish, leafy greens, nuts and seeds

In the quest to combat the spiraling obesity epidemic, a team of scientists believe copper may hold the key. Continue reading

Magnesium Deficiency Symptoms and Diagnosis

Magnesium deficiency is often misdiagnosed because it does not show up in blood tests – only 1% of the body’s magnesium is stored in the blood.

We thirst for magnesium rich water.

We thirst for magnesium rich water.

Most doctors and laboratories don’t even include magnesium status in routine blood tests. Thus, most doctors don’t know when their patients are deficient in magnesium, even though studies show that the majority of Americans are deficient in magnesium. Consider Dr. Norman Shealy’s statements, “Every known illness is associated with a magnesium deficiency” and that, “magnesium is the most critical mineral required for electrical stability of every cell in the body. A magnesium deficiency may be responsible for more diseases than any other nutrient.”

The truth he states exposes a gapping hole in modern medicine that explains a good deal about iatrogenic death and disease. Continue reading

Dr. Aragon: Those were thought to be unhealthy… precisely the opposite of what we now know to be true. Continue reading
