A recently surfaced CIA document proves the intelligence agency reviewed Cold War–era research that hinted at potential treatments for cancer 75 years ago — and kept the remarkable report classified for decades, according to a new report.
Now, the outraged public is speaking out and alleging a cruel government cover-up.
The document, which was produced in 1951, discusses an article published in the Soviet scientific journal Priroda by Professor V.V. Alpatov that examines similarities between parasitic worms and malignant tumors, Daily Mail reported.
The Soviet scientist and his colleagues reportedly believed cancerous growths and parasites accumulate large reserves of the stored energy glycogen and flourish under nearly identical metabolic conditions.
Their research cites experiments that show certain chemical compounds could actually target both ailments, including the drug Myracyl D. Other substances, such as Guanozolo — a guanine-like molecule — appeared to interfere with the production of nucleic acid, the chemical building blocks of DNA and RNA, which is essential for the uncontrolled growth of cancer cells.
Additionally, parasitic worms found in the human intestine can generate energy anaerobically, much like how tumor cells rely on altered metabolic pathways that allow them to survive in oxygen-poor environments.
The Soviet eggheads believed stored glycogen and the lack of need for oxygen may help tumors survive in densely packed tissue, where the blood supply is limited.
The CIA document does not pin the cause of cancer on parasites and only explains the Soviet study, which highlights the metabolic similarities.
Though the CIA write-up was declassified in 2014, fuming folks recently took to social media to express their fury over the long-buried intel.
“They read it, classified it CONFIDENTIAL, and locked it in a vault for 60 years,” one critic carps on X.
Another netizen declared, “The CIA KNEW there was a link between parasites and cancer. So what did they do? They locked the research away for 70+ years. They want you sick, weak, and controlled.”
A third railed: “A declassified CIA document proves the agency reviewed Soviet research showing parasitic worms behave EXACTLY like cancer tumors at a biochemical level. Even better: anti-parasitic drugs were DESTROYING tumors in lab tests! But instead of shouting it from the rooftops and saving millions, they CLASSIFIED IT and let it rot in their vaults while Big Pharma raked in TRILLIONS on poison chemo, radiation, and ‘treatments’ that keep patients sick for life. Why? Because a cheap, simple cure would CRUSH their trillion-dollar cancer industry cash cow.”
