The title of this category says it all. It is YOUR health, and ultimately – YOUR choice – as to how you choose to deal with the ailments, which have afflicted you, whether cancerous or not. Whatever your health maladies may or may NOT be – ultimately – the choice is YOURS. As Dr. Kelley taught his students (some might call them ‘patients’) – the Doctor can’t cure you of anything. He can set a broken bone and he or she can prescribe a drug – but only YOU can cure yourself of anything. It is time for you to take control of your own well being. A wide range of subjects are covered.

Where We Carry Our Fat Linked To Cancer Risk

In the first prospective study of directly measured body fat distribution and cancer risk, investigators found that higher levels of abdominal and thigh fat are associated with an increased risk of aggressive form of cancer.

It’s not the amount of fat in your body but where it’s stored that may increase your risk for heart attack, stroke and diabetes. Continue reading

Revealing the Connection Between Sugar and Cancer… Again!

An estimated 12.5 million people had some form of cancer in 2009, according to the American Cancer Society.. Another 25.8 million have diabetes.. These two preventable diseases are responsible for millions of deaths worldwide each year.

In the constant battle to stay healthy, many of us know that too much sugar in the blood can lead to diabetes and that by controlling our diets we can both prevent and even reverse the disease. But, could the same be said for cancer? Continue reading

Achieving Metabolic Efficiency

The following is a guest column, and while we understand the author’s simple approach, we are of the knowledge and understanding that this does not go far enough. It is a simple offering, and in numerous respects – too simple – however, we do urge you to read this short presentation – but do click on the link to Dr. Kelley’s renowned book, where according the Weston Price Foundation, you will find the key to “the greatest advancement in the field in 150 years.” ~ Ed.

When most people hear ‘metabolism,’ they think of the body’s ability to burn fat. But the metabolism is so much more – by definition – the metabolism is the chemical process of converting foods to energy need to sustain life. The more efficient your metabolism is – the better you feel.

Metabolic efficiency means your body’s systems are working together and can affect not only weight, but blood pressure and sugar levels, stress and anxiety and overall energy levels.

Many things go into what makes your metabolism efficient: age, gender, activity level and genetics. So there’s not a one-size fits all solution to achieving metabolic efficiency. Metabolisms vary from person to person and are the key indicator of why health and wellness plans are not providing the desired results. After all, everybody is different and responds differently to dietary, physical and mental interventions. Continue reading

Screen Time Syndrome: Brain Images Explain Why Kids Are Moody, Impulsive & Can’t Pay Attention

Originally published by Kettle Moraine Publications on another site on June 7, 2018. ~ Ed.

Screen time, in its multiple forms, will be part of your children’s lives at some point. But parents must ask themselves how early and to what extent?

AN EDUCATIONAL EDGE?
Some parents think they’re giving their child an educational edge like Susan who bought her 6-year-old son John an iPad when he was in first grade. She thought, ‘Why not let him get a jump on things?’ John’s school had begun using the devices with younger and younger grades – and his technology teacher had raved about their educational benefits. Disruptions In Our Internal Body Clock Increase Cancer Risk

While it’s reported that chronic disruptions of circadian rhythms, or internal body clocks, can lead to an increased risk of cancer, the underlying mechanisms by which the disturbances promote tumor growth had been largely unknown until now.

This internal clock, or circadian rhythm, controls when we sleep and wake and plays a role in other biological processes as well, such as temperature regulation and hormone production. Some people have internal body clocks that run longer than 24 hours, or at the very least have slower adapting mechanisms to the traditional daily cycle. Continue reading

Top 11 causes of cancer you may have NEVER guessed

This 1965 U.S. postal stamp shows how long we’ve been in the fight

You could wake up every day and be stepping into a total health nightmare while thinking you’re “playing your cards” just fine. We’ve all learned over the past few years that the mainstream media is one huge breadbasket of lies fueled by corporate-driven greed that delivers poison for our minds and our bodies at every turn of the channel, newspaper page or web page. Not only are most Americans “eating” cancer daily, they’re consuming the top 11 causes of cancer – all while they either count calories, “carbs” or how many pounds they weigh – none of which will matter when the oncologist sends them home with no cure in sight.

Then people go “march for the cure” at some Susan Komen Foundation gathering while eating Kentucky Fried Chicken and drinking Mike’s Hard Lemonade, both Komen sponsor foods and beverages that contain carcinogens (deep fried processed oils and alcohol, respectively) that aid cancer cell development. The best herbal remedies for depression

For a condition that affects over 16 million people in the U.S. every year, there’s still a lot that we don’t know about depression. In particular, some people equate extreme sadness to depression. This is not only an oversimplification, it’s also misleading as depression is much more nuanced and complex than simple unhappiness, however, it’s the belief that taking antidepressants could reduce depressive symptoms which causes concern.
