Is Liver Good For You?
It’s an unfortunate reality that the foods we tend to eat the most of are the ones that are the least packed with nutrients. Many of us will eat large quantities of potato chips, chocolate bars, processed sausage rolls and various other heavily processed and mass-produced foods that fill us up but don’t provide us with any actual goodness (and don’t even fill us up for all that long!). This is the mistake of looking at food as fuel rather than as the crucial resource that the body uses to build itself. How Much Turmeric Is Too Much?

First of all, let me state for the record that I absolutely love turmeric. Whenever I am walking through a city and get a whiff of warm, savory curry, I immediately want to track down the source. I have found some of my favorite Indian restaurants this way! I also love turmeric in spice rubs, sweet dishes and beverages. It’s safe to say that it’s one of my favorite spices of all time.

Along with being delicious, turmeric is also incredibly healthy. It’s so healthy that many people take turmeric — or its active compound, curcumin — in supplement form. There are a great many reasons to do so (more on that below), but how much is too much? Continue reading

Diseases like arthritis wreak havoc with the joints, causing enormous amounts of pain and suffering. 1/3 of all cancers could be prevented with these plant-based nutrients

Each year, over 10 million people worldwide are diagnosed with cancer, one million of them are Americans. And there is even more good news: An article in the journal Nature states that a third of all cancer deaths are totally preventable “through increased consumption of natural compounds” which prevent cell duplication and induce apoptosis (cancer cell suicide).
