Sperm count in Western men plunges to record low as scientists blame chemicals in everyday products for crisis

“This is an urgent wake-up call for researchers and health authorities around the world to investigate the causes of the sharp drop in sperm count, with the goal of prevention.” ~ Dr. Hagai Levine

It has fallen by more than 50% in 40 years – and is showing no signs of slowing down.

The study did not examine causes but scientists believe the amount of chemicals used in everyday products, industry and farming may be behind the crisis. Continue reading

Cell Towers At Schools: Godsend Or God-Awful?

School districts — hard up for cash — are turning to an unlikely source of revenue: cell towers. The multistory metal giants are cropping up on school grounds in Chicago, Milpitas, Calif., Collier County, Fla. and many other places across the country.

The big reason: money. As education budgets dwindle, districts are forming partnerships with telecom companies to allow use of their land in exchange for some of the profits. Continue reading

The Signs & Symptoms of Pancreatic Cancer

Pancreatic cancer is the ninth most common cancer death in women and the fourth in terms of both men and women. According to recent research the five year survival rate for those diagnosed early is only 8% and this drops to 3% for those diagnosed at an advanced stage. This is mainly due to the fact that this type of cancer is extremely difficult to diagnose and is usually discovered when it’s advanced to an almost incurable stage.

So what is pancreatic cancer? Pancreatic cancer is a disease where the healthy cells within the pancreas stop working as they should, and begin to grow at an uncontrollable rate. As the cancerous cells begin to build up, they form tumors that can begin spreading to other parts of the body. When pancreatic tumors advance to a large enough size, they begin to impact the function of other organs. This can result in digestive problems as the stomach begins to produce too much acid, as well as issues with the liver and bile production. Continue reading

How Much Turmeric Is Too Much?

First of all, let me state for the record that I absolutely love turmeric. Whenever I am walking through a city and get a whiff of warm, savory curry, I immediately want to track down the source. I have found some of my favorite Indian restaurants this way! I also love turmeric in spice rubs, sweet dishes and beverages. It’s safe to say that it’s one of my favorite spices of all time.

Along with being delicious, turmeric is also incredibly healthy. It’s so healthy that many people take turmeric — or its active compound, curcumin — in supplement form. There are a great many reasons to do so (more on that below), but how much is too much? Continue reading

Magnesium to make depression drugs obsolete?

New science finds magnesium safer, more affordable and more effective than SSRIs

More than 350 million people on our planet suffer from depression, and it also has a profound effect on their loved ones. One of the most popular treatments, SSRI antidepressants, is risky, expensive, and not terribly effective. This has prompted some scientists to look for alternatives, and it appears they may have found a good solution in the form of magnesium. Continue reading

My Erectile Dysfunction Saved My Life!

Men don’t like talking about their erectile dysfunction. I am making an exception.

Yesterday, I found out from my urologist that my bone scan showed nothing irregular. My prostate cancer has spread outside my prostate, but not far. It is advanced, but not immediately life-threatening.

Had he not caught it in time, things would have gotten much worse. He caught it in time because of my ED. Continue reading

Top 8 natural remedies that would end most preventable diseases in America

Have you noticed that it’s almost impossible to discuss the power of natural remedies with someone who has been brainwashed by allopathic medicine? Even if you talk your friend, neighbor, relative or co-worker into mustering up the courage to ask their MD about a particular holistic option, their pill-pushing doctor will quickly discredit the remedy and then prescribe some chemical-laced quack pills that help that doctor get front row seats at the next major sporting event, thanks to their pharmaceutical representative. Cause of cancer? ‘It’s the metabolism stupid’

“It’s the metabolism stupid” is a wry nod to President Bill Clinton’s famous 1992 campaign slogan: “The economy, stupid.” As we will see, this phrase is startling in its simplistic defining of the cancer complexity and as an overall reaching principle behind cancer. This phrase is stepping back and looking at the entire forest instead of looking at minute details that could never and will never explain the forest ecosystem.

Otto Warburg started with his famous elucidation of cancer’s ability to metabolize sugar in an extremely inefficient manner even in the presence of oxygen. Then there is a long list of researchers who have blazed a trail for those who can see are easily able to follow. For example, Thomas Seyfried of Boston College has a seminal book, Cancer as a Metabolic Disease, which elucidates the failings of seeing cancer as a genetic cause and the very promising results of seeing cancer as damaged mitochondrial respiration. Five types of American doctors who know nothing about nutrition and push chemical medicines to cover up symptoms of deeper-rooted health problems

Ever heard of the 250,000 cotton farmers in central India who took their own lives after being manipulated by promises made by Monsanto? Monsanto claimed to be able to put an end to famine and promised unheard of riches and crop prosperity if the farmers would switch from their conventional farming methods to the use of GM seeds. Many farmers had to borrow money to purchase these seeds, and after several failed harvests, they were left with no income and out of control debt. After going bankrupt from Monsanto’s Ponzi scheme the farmers fell into an endless cycle of depression, hopelessness and despair. It is also believed that, aside from the obvious issue of loss of income, the daily contact with the poisonous pesticides and herbicides also led to the depression these farmers suffered from. They believed the only way out was suicide, many even poisoning themselves with the same pesticides they used to spray on their failed crops. Continue reading

Inflammation. We’ve all dealt with it in some form or another, whether it’s a stiff joint, a fever, or an infected wound. But for some people, inflammation causes much more serious damage. Diseases like arthritis wreak havoc with the joints, causing enormous amounts of pain and suffering.
