Your immune system is one of the most important systems in your body. The immune system is very large. It consists of many disease fighting complex parts.
Most people think that the immune system consists of white blood cells, vaccinations, and lymphatic cells that respond to pathogens. The immune system is a whole lot more than that, and protects a person’s whole body, 100 percent of the time, 24/7.
White blood cells, or leukocytes, are the main characters in your immune system. They rely on a great many other immune cells to fight disease and illnesses. The leukocytes are found in the blood and many other parts of the body. They are the “minute men “ ready to attack invading pathogens that enter or get into your body. There are two types of leukocytes. They are neutrophils and phagocytes. Both of these types of cells are then broken down into many other kind of immune (pathogen) fighters. They travel in the blood, lymphatic tissues, organs, lymph nodes, skin, and even in the brain.
There also are two different kinds of phagocytes, or macrophages, rapid response immune cells, and slow response immune cells. They breakdown into eosinophils, killer cells, mast cells, B cells, T cells, and antibody cells. Antibody cells are needed to acquire immunity to diseases such as smallpox, whooping cough, polio, and different flu antibodies, including covid-19 viruses.
The antibodies are usually made from dead pathogens that create protective antibodies. the vaccine antibodies prevent the nasty pathogens and diseases that would create serious problems and sometimes, death.
An antigen is a substance that tries to harm your body and health. They can be bacteria, virus, parasite eggs and larvae, molds, fungi, such as candida, and other substances foreign to the leukocytes and other fighting cells.
The immune system also has other threats. I have mentioned previously about autoimmune diseases. Autoimmune diseases are created as an immune response to a non electromagnetic refined, processed, and bad diet. This creates toxins, gut wall inflammation, and a leaky gut. Toxins, bad bacteria, and other nasty pathogens get into the blood. This type of bad diet creates an immune response to the blood toxins and debris. The autoimmune response occurs when the immune cells get their signals mixed up and attack the joints and other parts of the body. The leukocytes and other immune cells, responding to the bad bacteria, small undigested protein particles, and toxins in the blood, also produce histamine. This results in leucocytosis, allergies, eczema, sinusitis, and other upper respiratory problems. Most people do not realize that these respiratory problems are related to a bad diet.
A great diet and lifestyle are essential for maintaining a great immune system. A bad diet, smoking, excess alcohol, lack of exercise, stress, and lack of sleep will lower the immune system response. In that case, the great immune system army will be severely handicapped.
A great electromagnetic fresh raw food diet is essential to keep healthy small intestinal flora (good bacteria). It is dependent on a ratio of 80 percent good bacteria to 20 percent bad bacteria. Don’t forget the essential supplements, vitamins, minerals, fermented foods, and probiotics that also help.
A great benefit to the immune system is drinking enough water and liquids each day. Water helps maintain the neutral acid-base balance, as well as helps the kidneys clean debris from the blood.
In the last few months, there has been some very good information about how important it is to reduce chronic stress, worry, and depression. They are much more important than a person realizes. They can actually cause changes of the inflammation in a person’s gut, increase toxins, and lower the immune response to antigens. These activities can also influence the brain more than what was previously thought. So be good to your immune system. Feed your small intestinal bacteria foods that enhance the army of disease fighters. Be thankful that God gave us the greatest nation on earth to live in, and that we have the opportunity to keep our immune system very healthy.

Merle E. Loudon, B.S., D.D.S. graduated from the University Of Washington School Of Dentistry in 1957. After two years of service in the Air Force, he started a private practice in East Wenatchee, Washington. For the past 45 years his practice has included Orthodontics and TM Dysfunction treatment specializing in temporomandibular pain treatment, headache, head and neck pain control, functional jaw orthopedics, and straight wire orthodontics. Associated with mercury elimination, oral surgery, crowns and bridges is TMJ treatment, diet control, parasite elimination, intestinal cleansing and healing (wellness).
Merle E. Loudon, B.S., D.D.S. has taught advanced courses for dentists on TM Dysfunction treatment, orthodontics and related pain control for more than 30 years. In 1972 he was the first dentist in Washington to use straight wire orthodontics and the first dentist to correct vertical deficiencies in children by placing vertical dimension-primary molar buildups and/or vertical (erupting) appliances. Merle E. Loudon, B.S., D.D.S. was involved with the first group of dentists to recognize lateral tongue splinting in young infants and integrate functional and fixed techniques to correct vertical dimension deficiencies and condylar placement. He is the originator of vertical dimension-primary molar build ups, which help to correct deep bites and Otitus media in children. He invented the Loudon-Chateau Anterior Repositioning Appliance, the functional muscle malocclusion concept, the twelve commandments of occlusion and the vertical overbite domino rule. Merle E. Loudon, B.S., D.D.S. has written numerous articles in several American and foreign dental journals and has lectured in over 50 cities and 7 foreign countries on functional jaw orthopedics, fixed wire orthodontics, Otitus media treatment and TM Dysfunction treatment. He has been instrumental in setting up criteria for teaching in the International Association For Orthodontics, including the certified instructor program.
Dr. Loudon is a member of The American Dental Association, Diplomat and Senior Instructor in the International Association for Orthodontics, and is a Diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management. He also is a member of the American Orthodontic Society.
