Dr. V.: How Viruses, Bacteria, Parasites and Fungal Overgrowth Can Lead to Breast Cancer

breast_cancer_10It’s not a particularly pleasant topic. It is a fact, however, that most people have an overgrowth of opportunistic organisms living in their body. Not all bacteria, fungi, parasites and viral cells are bad. But when an overgrowth or imbalance occurs, this will affect your immune system ─ your first line of defense against Breast Cancer.

The Facts about VBPF’s (Viruses, Bacteria, Parasites, Fungi)
Below is a basic rundown when it comes to the Viruses, Bacteria, Parasites and Fungi (VBPF’s) that may be residing within you:

Viruses
A virus is an infectious agent. Just like in a computer, human viruses are also “little bits of code” that have as their main goal the corruption of the whole system, i.e. your body.

Sounds pretty dire, right? It would be if it weren’t for our immune system. If it is functioning right, it will do its job at destroying viral cells along with other pathogens.

If the immune system is weak, however, a virus could spread relentlessly, causing further weakening of the immune system and allowing other pathogens, like cancer cells, to grow.

There is also a direct correlation between some viruses and cancer. For example, the Human papillomavirus (HVP) have been linked to cervical cancer. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) can lead to stomach cancer and lymphoma if not kept in check. The Hepatitis C virus has been linked to liver cancer. And some very recent research studies are tentatively making the link between Human Cytomegalovirus (HCVM), Epstein-Barr and Breast Cancer proliferation.

Bacteria
Bacterium occupy space in every part of your body. In fact, science is discovering that there are more bacterial cells in the human body than there are “human” cells.

Some bacteria perform vital functions for the immune system and most do no harm in small amounts. Many, however, can become vicious when they get out of control.

There are other opportunistic bacteria whose internal mechanisms are shockingly similar to that of cancer. Both cancer cells and the bacteria that causes Lyme Disease feed on sugar, according to Duke University oncologist and Lyme Disease sufferer Dr. Neil Spector.

Lyme disease is caused by a bite from a deer tick.

The most obvious link between bacterial imbalance and cancer is the immune system. When it comes to keeping the ratio of “the good and the bad” in check, gut health is the key since 60 to 80% of your immune system cells reside in your intestines.

Parasites
According to the CDC, “millions of Americans” have opportunistic parasites within them. A common one is the taenia solium tapeworm, whose larvae can be found in uncooked pork. Taenia Solium can lead to Cysticercosis, which has been linked to DNA damage and tumor growth.

In addition to the direct cancer links mentioned above, parasites also have clever ways of “tricking” the immune system. And as they grow, the strip us of vital nutrients needed to fuel our bodies, not theirs.

Fungi

Similar to bacteria, certain fungi in the right amounts are beneficial for health. Mushrooms such as Agaricus, Chaga and  Shiitake are immune system-balancers. Turkey Tail mushroom has been proven to shrink Breast Cancer tumors.

When certain fungi proliferate because of bad eating habits and lifestyle, problems arise.  The most well-known fungi is Candida Albicans. Candida is present within everyone, but when it grows out of control, it can wreak havoc on the body. In fact, some experts believe Candida to be the foundational cause of all tumor growth.

Don’t be daunted by this information. Be smart instead! Understand that a small amount of the right kind of pathogen (even parasites, say some experts) can help keep your immune system strong. Play barefoot in the dirt, connect with people, explore our planet earth. But also stick to a Healthy Breast Diet, practice gentle detoxing and get the right kinds of testing done if you need to. Most importantly, take care of your gut and immune system, the intricate microbiomes that live inside of you!
