SARS: More Proof That God’s Dietary Law Is Valid?

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Chinese have discovered something alarmingly close to what we now know as SARS, the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, in “exotic” animals some of the probably more affluent Chinese like to eat.

In that article, Chinese “experts” discovered an almost identical Corona Virus that has been killing people right and left in so-called “exotic” species of animals most Americans wouldn’t even spit at, let alone eat.

The beginning of that article reads:

“Chinese researchers have uncovered a potential clue to the origin of SARS, evidence of the pneumonia-causing virus in three species of wild mammals sold as delicacies in the live-animal food markets of South China.”

“Delicacies”? What we now term as “delicacies” were called “unclean” for human consumption by God.

The SF Chronicle goes on to describe what those well-to-do Chinese think is an exotic delicacy:

“Scientists from Hong Kong and Shenzhen, China, said Friday that a Corona Virus almost identical to the one that causes SARS in humans had been found in all six masked palm civets — cat-size cousins of the mongoose — that were taken live from the marketplace for laboratory testing.

The virus also was isolated from a raccoon dog, a small canine sold for human consumption, and antibodies against the same virus were found in a Chinese ferret badger.”

It is high time we Americans revisited the Dietary Laws of God, because even if you are not frying up palm civits or broiling raccoon dog for dinner tonight, Americans consume pork and shell-fish like it’s going out of style.

If you subscribe to the fact that God created us in His image, then you must also subscribe to the fact that God knows what is good for us to consume – and what isn’t. And assuming our God and creator loves what He created, which is you and I, then I cannot imagine any reason our father God would not leave us with explicit instructions in what we should eat to sustain us.

Is that a bit too deep for some of you?

So in my youth I discovered the Dietary Laws in the Bible, and I pondered on them for many years until the obvious finally penetrated deep enough into my stubborn mind to make me realize that, gee, maybe God gave us those Dietary Laws to preserve our health. Do ya think????

One thing I’ve learned over these fifty plus years is that God is not a jerk. No, he’s not some omnipotent despot jackass who just pulls strings to see if we’ll jump for His pleasure. Many of the Godless think He’s just that, because He tells you that what you’re doing is wrong, while it feels so damn good to do it! You know, like sex out of wedlock? Well, I’ve got news for ya, baby: A little poison mixed with a whole lot of sugar feels good too – until it kills you.

Get it? Maybe that’s just too deep for some of you too.

Okay, so we are now going to review the Dietary Laws God gave His children of Israel for the express purpose that they would convey those Dietary Laws to other Jews – and eventually to the Gentiles.

We find these laws in the Old Testament of Leviticus, Chapter 11, and Verses 1-23, which plainly reads:

(Lev 11:1 KJV) And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,

(Lev 11:2 KJV) Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.

(Lev 11:3 KJV) Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.

(Lev 11:4 KJV) Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

(Lev 11:5 KJV) And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

(Lev 11:6 KJV) And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

(Lev 11:7 KJV) And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

(Lev 11:6 KJV) Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.

(Lev 11:9 KJV) These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.

(Lev 11:10 KJV) And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:

(Lev 11:11 KJV) They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.

(Lev 11:12 KJV) Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

(Lev 11:13 KJV) And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the osprey,

(Lev 11:14 KJV) And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;

(Lev 11:15 KJV) Every raven after his kind;

(Lev 11:16 KJV) And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckoo, and the hawk after his kind,

(Lev 11:17 KJV) And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,

(Lev 11:18 KJV) And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,

(Lev 11:19 KJV) And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

(Lev 11:20 KJV) All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.

(Lev 11:21 KJV) Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;

(Lev 11:22 KJV) Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.

(Lev 11:23 KJV) But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.

(Lev 11:24 KJV) And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even.

(Lev 11:25 KJV) And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

(Lev 11:26 KJV) The carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.

(Lev 11:27 KJV) And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.

(Lev 11:28 KJV) And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.

(Lev 11:29 KJV) These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind,

(Lev 11:30 KJV) And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole.

(Lev 11:31 KJV) These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even.

(Lev 11:32 KJV) And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed.

(Lev 11:33 KJV) And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.

(Lev 11:34 KJV) Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.

(Lev 11:35 KJV) And every thing whereupon any part of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean, and shall be unclean unto you.

Okay, ya got that?

A pig cleaves the hoof, but does not chew the cud. Is the pig clean or unclean as a food source?

A catfish has fins, but does not have scales. Is the catfish clean or unclean as a food source?

The lobster, prawn, shrimp, crab, oyster, mussel and clam don’t have fins or scales, so are they a clean or unclean food source to you?

Do you cherish the idea that you might slowly die of cancer in abject agony? God gave you explicit instructions on what is a clean food source for you, and what isn’t, and the vast majority of you didn’t pay the slightest bit of attention, because you are saved through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, right?

You couldn’t be more wrong. Jesus’ body changed during His resurrection, but yours didn’t. You are still under the Dietary Law until your own body is resurrected from death, and I’ll prove it beyond refute right here and now.

Do you happen to recall Peter? We come upon Peter in Acts 10, which takes place 10 years after the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.

Peter was one of Jesus’ disciples. He was right there when Jesus died on the cross, and he witnessed Jesus alive three days later – right along with about 500 other people.

No wonder Christianity got legs and kept them running all this time! What other great spiritual leader came back from the dead to so many witnesses? Mohammed? No. Buddha? No. Jim Jones? Hell, no!

No, only Jesus Christ proved He could defeat death, and through His sacrifice for us, He promised we could also have eternal life through Him.

So here’s Peter in Acts 10, after he personally witnessed Jesus being taken up into Heaven in front of him and a bunch of others, and he is on a rooftop, hungry as can be – ten years later!

Here is the exact scripture in Acts 10, Versus 9-14, which reads:

(Acts 10:9 KJV) On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

(Acts 10:10 KJV) And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

(Acts 10:11 KJV) And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

(Acts 10:12 KJV) Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

(Acts 10:13 KJV) And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

(Acts 10:14 KJV) But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

What’s that?? Ten years after he personally witnessed the resurrection of Jesus Christ in front of his very own eyes, Peter is STILL strictly adhering to the Dietary Laws? Why? If the resurrection of Jesus Christ did away with all that silly old law, why was Peter still strictly adhering to those laws in the face of temptation to break them when he was famished?

Answer: The Dietary Laws, nor even the basic Ten Commandments Law of Moses, were ever done way by Jesus’ resurrection. I don’t know why so many “Christian” churches today preach otherwise to their congregations, but Jesus Himself made this very plain comment in Matthew Chapter 5, 17-19 which reads:

(Mat 5:17 KJV) Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

(Mat 5:18 KJV) For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

(Mat 5:19 KJV) Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

So there you have it, people: If your church pastor is preaching that Jesus’ resurrection made it so you could do whatever you want, but as long as you have “accepted” Jesus as your personal lord & savior, it’s okay. NOT!!

But the main point of this article is that whenever we break the Laws of God, we suffer the consequences – and not His punishment. He doesn’t have to punish us, don’t you see? He told us what and what not to do, and if we blow it, the consequences are already in place.

The Chinese have been eating all kinds of “unclean” foods, and if the article in the San Francisco Chronicle is on the money, it was that violation of God’s Law that resulted in the transmission of SARS into the entire Earth’s human population.
